Talk therapy provides a child, adolescent or young adult with a safe space in which to express his/her feelings and navigate through his/her current challenge. I work with children, adolescents and young adults who experience emotional and adjustment challenges related to the learning process that may accompany each of these life stages. I have experience supporting individuals across these developmental phases who are experiencing anxiety, feelings of panic and emotional dysregulation or other emotional difficulties. I work from a holistic perspective and believe in collaboration with all important role-players in my client’s life (parents, teachers, family members and other professionals he/she may see). This is done in collaboration with my clients, along with their consent and at a pace with which they are comfortable. For example with the permission of my client and parent, I may liaise with the school/institution or teachers involved. I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy and adapt the therapy to the client’s individual needs. I like to include creative elements into my therapy including art and music should it be relevant to the therapeutic process.
